Today, multiple media outlets reported that 21 federal employees from the new DOGE office resigned, implying that they were part of Elon Musk’s team. But, as always, the real story tells a very different tale.
What the Media Wants You to Believe
According to CNN, The Washington Post, and other legacy media outlets, these resignations reflect internal turmoil within DOGE under Musk’s leadership. They are framing this as a sign of chaos and an early failure for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a division that President Trump recently established by rebranding the existing United States Digital Service (USDS).
But what they fail to mention is who these employees really are—and why they resigned.
The Truth They Don’t Want You to Know
The 21 individuals who resigned were NOT part of Musk’s team at all. These were longtime civil service employees from the original USDS, a government agency established by President Obama in 2014. When Trump rebranded USDS into DOGE, these employees remained as holdovers from the previous administration—until now.
So why did they resign?
Their departure was not about rejecting Musk’s leadership, as the mainstream media falsely suggests. These employees left because they were fundamentally opposed to the new mission of DOGE—an agency that is now exposing the very fraud, corruption, and waste that was ignored for years.
